When meeting someone formally for the first time, we shake their hand and say "How do you do?" or "Pleased to meet you."
"How do you do?" isn't really a question, it just means "Hello".
| |
When young people meet informally they sometimes say "Give me five!" and slap their hands together (high five).
Generally we do not shake hands with people we know well.

You shout out "Good morning", when you wake up or when you see someone in the morning
You say "Good afternoon" to greet in the afternoon
Similarly for "Good evening".
Then when you say "Good night",its time to sleep!
You say "goodbye" when its time to leave and depart with a friend
Then a big final "Hello!" when you really feel like having fun!
